District Police Leh Arrest Drug Peddlers, Recovered Contraband Substances

VoL Desk, July 10: In a remarkable achievement, the District Police Leh, under the leadership of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), has achieved significant progress in the ongoing fight against drug peddling. In two separate operations, the police apprehended two notorious drug peddlers and seized a substantial amount of contraband substances.

The ADGP of Ladakh, a seasoned law enforcement professional, took to Twitter to announce the commendable accomplishment by the District Police Leh. The tweet read, “District Police Leh has made significant progress in the fight against drug peddling in the district. In two separate cases, the police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances.”

In the first case, a police party intercepted a suspicious car and recovered about 144 grams of charas like substance and three number of small transparent polythene packets with white crystal powder suspected to be MDMA drug. The accused has been identified as Jigmat Namgyal, a government employee and is posted as Laboratory Assistant at Government High School, Housing Colony, Leh.

In the second case, a police party searched the Hotel room occupied by one Sabil Narayan Vats and recovered 112 grams of charas like substance, 8 grams of chalk shaped cocaine like substance and 2 number of squared shaped LSD paper like substance.

The public has been encouraged to cooperate with the police by providing any information related to drug peddling activities or suspicious individuals. District Police Leh has assured the community that their identities will be kept confidential, and strict action will be taken against those involved in drug-related offenses.
