NHPC conduct exposure tour for students in Kargil

KARGIL, OCTOBER 12, 2021: As part of the flagship programme Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) Chutuk organised an exposure tour for students of various schools here in district Kargil. The students are being made aware of the functioning of the Hydro Power Project and benefit extended to locals under various CSR&SD Schemes and employment generation by Chutak Power Station.

On 12th October, 2021 Deputy Commissioner/ CEO Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve was invited to Chutuk Power Station where he addressed students of Kendriya Vidyalaya.  On the occasion, General Manager (HoP) Lhendup Lepcha, welcomed the DC Santosh Sukhdeve IAS, Principal, teachers and students of Kendriya Vidyalaya.

Lepcha briefed about various activities being undertaken by the Chutak Power Station under CSR&SD initiative of NHPC Limited for the development of the local area, employment generation etc.

DC Santosh also addressed the students and emphasised on the importance of Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and motivated students for hard work and consistency in their efforts for achieving desired goal. He also praised NHPC for the all-out efforts made for upliftment of local people through CSR&SD initiative and for providing two Oxygen Plants of 500 LPM at District Hospital, Kargil and CHC, Sankoo which is need of the hour in the Covid Pandemic.

As part of the “Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” Chutak Power Station organised a weeklong event from 08th to 14th October, 2021 during which visit to Power Station is being organized for students of schools located in Kargil District. The students are being made aware about functioning of Hydro Power Project and benefits extended to locals under various CSR&SD Schemes and employment generation by Chutak Power Station. 

Around 60 students each from Mutahhary Public School, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, and Kendriya Vidyalaya visited Barrage and Power House of Chutak Power Station. Further, students of ITI, Kargil also visited on Wednesday. “Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” is being celebrated to commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
