Feroz Khan Conducts Meeting Regarding Accomodation of Girls Hr. Sec. School Kargil

KARGIL MARCH 15, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan convened a meeting with regard to the arrangements of accommodation for the students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kargil at Council Secretariat here today.

Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukadeve, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Tsering Motup, Councilor Poyen Constituency Muhammad Amin, Principal Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kargil, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Kargil Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma, Headmaster Government High School Goma Kargil, Headmaster Government High School Poyen besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

After thorough deliberations and discussions it was decided that due to the construction work on the present building of Government Girls Higher Secondary, the students will be shifted to Government High School Goma Kargil.

CEC Khan directed the ADC Kargil, District Education Planning Officer Kargil and Principals of the schools to do a survey of Government High School Goma Kargil to look for the feasibility for shifting of the students to Government High School Goma Kargil and submit a proposal to the Deputy Commissioner Kargil so that a formal order is issued in this regard.

Feroz Khan further directed the concerned executing agencies and departments to complete the construction of the new building of the Girls Higher Secondary School on priority.

On the occasion Executive Engineers of the concerned department assured that the school building will be completed within the stipulated timeline, adding that the ground floor of the building will be completed by November this year.

It was also decided during the meeting that that the students of class 9th and 10th of Goma Kargil High school will be clubbed with students of Girls Higher Secondary School and a shift system can be made a possibility to teach the students of both the schools.

Meanwhile, CEC while expressing concern on the least roll of admissions at Government High School and Middle School Goma Kargil directed the concerned officials to do community engagement so as to sensitize people to send their wards to Government schools. He said that Government schools have well qualified teachers and people should take benefits from their services.

DEPO informed the meeting that community sensitization programs are already going on at some schools of the district besides all possible efforts are being made to convince parents to send their wards to Government schools. He also apprised the issue of lack of Lecturers and Teachers at different Government schools of the district.

The CEC while responding to the issues assured the DEPO that the matter with regard to the vacancy of Lecturers has already been taken up with the UT Administration and is expected to be resolved in due course of time.
