Leh, Oct. 13, 2023: In celebration of the International Day of Older Persons 2023, the Health and Family Welfare Department, Leh organised a multi-specialty camp for senior citizens at SNM Hospital on October 12, as part of the National Programme for Health Care of Elderly (NPHCE). Leh, March 06: A team of doctors successfully removed a 3.94 kg abdominal tumor from a 70-year-old high-risk patient having multiple comorbidities at SNM Hospital, Leh.
The team was headed by Dr Padma Deskit, Consultant Surgeon assisted by Consultant Gynaecologist, Dr Stanzin Dolkar; Senior Consultant, Anesthesia, Dr Morup, and Surgeon, Dr Gyalpo.
The team of doctors said that it’s rare and such a huge tumor has ever been removed at a District level hospital.
