Tunnels across major passes in Ladakh in offing; to cost Rs 5,000 cr

Leh, Nov 24 (PTI) The Ladakh administration is planning to build tunnels at cost of Rs 5,000 crores across major passes in the union territory to improve internal connectivity, and has hired consultants for the mega task, a senior official said on Thursday.

Road accident at Khardugla Leh, four tourist dead

Oct 18: Four tourists were killed as a vehicle (Thar) skidded off the slippery snow clad road and fell down into a deep gorge near Khardungla Pass in Leh District.

Reports from Leh said that four tourists on way to Nubra from Leh met with a tragic accident as their Mahindra Thar vehicle rolled down into more than 150 feet deep gorge on slippery road near Khardungla Pass, at the height of around 18,000 ft from sea level today.

Army rescue stranded vehicles, civilians at Khardung-La

Srinagar CNS, 23 April: On the evening of 21 April 2021, due to heavy snowfall, vehicle traffic was disrupted along the route from North Pullu – Khardung La Top – South Pullu leading to civilian vehicles getting stranded near Khardung La Top and North Pullu.
