Kargil, April 20: Environmental Science and Education Department, GDC Zanskar jointly organized a study tour for students of 2nd Semester to Zangla Village of Zanskar Subdivision.

The tour was aimed to provide hands-on training and bridge gap between employability and skill by offering practical learning opportunities. 

The students received information and knowledge regarding the process of making paneer and cheese from Stanzin Donsal, a nun at Chamgchub Choling Nunnery, Zangla.

Later, the students interacted with the women’s Self Help Group of the region. The member of the SHG shared their carpet weaving experiences. The students were provided practical knowledge of carpet weaving through demonstration.

In the end, waste auditing at household level was conducted and the residents were urged to take responsibility for their waste and ensure to control the waste at household level to maintain ecology and beauty of the region. 

The tour was executed under the supervision of Thopstun Dolkar Faculty of Environmental Science and Shagufta Zehra faculty of Education.
