VoL Desk, March 20: After a one-month closure, the Srinagar-Kargil National Highway (NH-01) reopened for vehicular movement on trial basis on March 20, 2024, following the clearance of the road from both sides. Movement was permitted on a trial basis during which particular vehicles crossed Minamarg.

The reopening of the pass is anticipated to facilitate the arrival of essential commodities in the region, bringing satisfaction to the local populace in the holy month of Ramazan. The Zojila pass had been closed since February 18, 2024, due to heavy snowfall.
