Apex Body Addresses MP’s Allegations Regarding Draft Submission to MHA

VoL Desk, Feb. 15: In response to allegations by MP Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, regarding non-consultation in drafting Ladakh’s four-point agenda proposal submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the Apex Body in Leh held a press conference to clarify their stance.

Tsering Dorjey Lakruk, a veteran leader from Leh representing the Apex Body, emphasized that the demands outlined in the recent draft are well-known to the people of Ladakh, having been under discussion for the past four years. He highlighted that while the BJP was initially part of the Apex Body, they later chose to depart from it, making it impractical to consult them on the draft proposal.

Lakruk further explained that, for unspecified reasons, the MHA instructed Ladakhi leaders to keep the draft proposal confidential, leading to its non-disclosure to the public.

He further stated that if Jamyang Tsering Namgyal being MP of Ladakh had asked for the draft he would have shared that without any reservation. But he did not bother to ask for it.
