Candle March Planned in Leh After Mysterious Death of Missing Zanskar Woman

VoL Desk, Jan. 04: After discovering the body of an 18-year-old girl beneath a bridge in Pipiting yesterday, the Ladakh Buddhist Association and Zanskar Buddhist Association jointly announced a candle march in Leh. The girl was reportedly missing from Zanskar since November 26, 2023.

During a press conference, LBA leader Tsering Dorjay Lakruk called for a thorough investigation into the matter, urging the arrest and punishment of anyone involved in the woman’s mysterious death.

Emphasizing the puzzling circumstances surrounding the discovery under a river bridge, another member highlighted that the body did not find despite immense search effort by both the administration and locals in locating the body.

The sudden appearance of the body under the bridge seems suspicious that need investigation. The member urged the people of Zanskar to participate in the candle march, scheduled to commence from Zanskar Sarai in Leh to Chowkhang at 4 pm today.
