Training Program on Disaster Management Concludes in Kargil

Kargil, Dec 21: The training program on disaster response, relief and rescue organized by District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Kargil through Aapda Mitra Volunteers in collaboration with UTDRF, Fire and Emergency and Health Department and Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department (RD&PRD) was held in the Gram Panchayats of Kargil, Taisuru and Sankoo blocks on the the concluding day.

In this regard, training programs were held at Panchayat Badgam, Panchayat Purtikchay, Panchayat Khawos and Panchayat Barsoo. The programs at different venues were attended by BDOs, Apata Volunteers, PRI members, Numberdars, volunteers of religious organizations, NGOs, locals including women and others.

The training program is aimed to equip individuals with crucial disaster response skills. Prioritizing preparedness and swift action, the initiative aims to bolster the community’s resilience in the face of emergencies.

During the training program, the Apada volunteers, UTDRF personnel, and experts led hands-on demonstrations, providing participants with vital skills for navigating diverse disaster scenarios. The training program aimed to enhance effective disaster response capabilities. The initiative focused on preparedness, it empowers residents to proactively tackle potential challenges, fostering resilience against disasters. Participants in the training program also acquire vital knowledge in first aid treatment for injuries during untoward incidents. Demonstrations prioritize practical aspects, ensuring individuals gain essential skills for an effective and informed response in emergency situations.
