Tehsildar Zanskar, Inspects Earthquake Affected Areas in Zanskar
Kargil, Dec 20: A team of officers and officials of Govt. Departments headed by Tehsildar Zanskar, Sonam Dorjay inspected the recent earthquake-affected areas in Zanskar subdivision.
During visit to Karsha monastery, it was observed that Lakhang (Protector room) of the Monastery developed some cracks after recent earthquake and aftershocks.
The above 800-year-old main Lakhang of Karsha monastery has developed cracks due to the recent earthquake. Committee head Tehsildar Zanskar decided to declare it unsafe for performing prayer and gathering. They requested the monks of the Monastery to restrict entry in the affected Lakhang (Protectors Room) of the monastery.
