J&K High Court Orders Hal Symbol Allotment to JKNC for LAHDC Elections

VoL Desk, August 10: In a significant legal triumph, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) has emerged victorious in the J&K High Court. Vice President of JKNC, Omar Abdullah, announced through a tweet that the court has directed the Union Territory of Ladakh to assign the Hal (Plough) symbol to candidates of the party for the upcoming Hill council elections. The election notification had been issued just a few days prior.

The ruling is a substantial step for JKNC’s representation in the region, as the Hal symbol holds deep historical and cultural significance. This decision paves the way for JKNC to participate in the democratic process with an emblem that resonates with the local population.
