Zanabiya Society Commemorates Hazrat Ali Asghar’s Martyrdom in Mass Congregation

VoL Desk, July 21: Zanabiya Women Welfare Society Kargil, the women’s wing of IKMT, organized a significant congregation to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Ali Asghar, the six-month-old martyr of the Battle of Karbala.

The event took place at Zainabiya Hall, Haidary Mohalla, and witnessed the participation of hundreds of women who brought their infants, dressed in cloth resembling Hazrat Ali Asghar, to pledge their commitment to prepare their children for the awaited reappearance of the last Imam, Mohammad Mehdi (a.s.).

Global Ali Asgar Day is observed annually on the first Friday of the month of Muharram in the Islamic Calendar. This day is dedicated to honoring the memory of Ali Asger Ibna Hussain, the youngest child of Imam Hussain and Umma Rubab, who tragically lost his life during the Battle of Karbala. Ali Asger, a tender six-month-old, was martyred by one of the Umayyad oppressors, Humalla, who callously shot an arrow at the child’s neck.

The observance of Global Ali Asgar Day has gained momentum over the past three years, and this year’s congregation was no exception. Speaking to VoL correspondent, Hajiya Banoo, a member of Zainabya Women Welfare Society Kargil, emphasized that Imam Hussain AS, accompanied by his companions and family, courageously stood up to protect Islam from its adversaries, even at the cost of sacrificing the innocent Hazarat Ali Asger.

In remembrance of this poignant martyrdom, lactating mothers from Kargil, along with their children, came together to deliver a powerful message against oppression and tyranny worldwide. They expressed their solidarity with all oppressed individuals, regardless of who the oppressors may be.

This commemoration serves as a reminder of the values of justice, compassion, and courage upheld by Hazrat Ali Asghar and the sacrifices made during the Battle of Karbala. The women of Zanabiya Women Welfare Society Kargil hope that their collective effort will contribute to a world free from oppression and injustice.
