CEC Feroz Khan reviews Muharram arrangements

Kargil, July 15: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan today convened a meeting of the representatives of religious organizations and concerned district officers at Council Secretariat to discuss arrangements ahead of Muharram and the conduct of processions in the district during.

Executive Councilor Social Welfare, Aga Syed Mehdi Fazili, EC Works, Mubarak Shah Naqvi, EC Health, Mohsin Ali,  EC Tourism and Zankar Affairs Er. Phunshok Tashi, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Shrikant Balashaeb Sushe, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ghulam Mohi-ud-In Wani, ASP, Choudhary Ifitikar Ahmed,  representatives of Anjuman-e-Jamiat-ul-Ulema Isna Ashayria Kargil (AJUIAK), Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT) Kargil, SDMs, Executive Engineer PHE R&B, Mechanical, PDD, CMO, AD FCS&CA besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.

During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held to put in place necessary arrangements including uninterrupted power and water supply, ration availability, deployment of doctors and ambulances, medical facilities, traffic management, PA system, and sanitization of the places of congregations and the roads where from processions will be taken on the 9th Muharram and on the day of Ashura.

The CEC directed the concerned departments to make all arrangements on time to ensure the smooth conduct of the congregations as well as processions in the district.

Khan directed CMO Kargil to open an additional medical camp in between old taxi stand and Lal Chowk in case of any emergency.

The CEC also directed ASP Kargil to increase patrolling of police personnel in the town area during the Muharram period.

The CEC also directed PDD and PHE to provide uninterrupted water and power supply respectively during the Moharram period.

During the meeting, suggestions were taken from religious organizations like AJUIAK and IKMT. Khan assured that all suggestions will be taken into consideration.
