Maj B S Randhawa, MVC & Sub Harka Bahadur, MC Organize Archery Competition for Youths to Commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas

Kargil, June 19: Kargil Sentinels Brigade, in collaboration with Maj B S Randhawa, MVC, and Sub Harka Bahadur, MC, organized a spirited archery competition for local youths in Kargil, to honor the valor and sacrifice of our brave soldiers on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas. This event aimed to relive the courageous saga of our soldiers and celebrate the unwavering commitment of the local community.

Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed on July 26 every year, commemorates India’s decisive victory in the war against Pakistan in 1999, fought in the icy heights of Dras, Kargil, and Batalik sub-sectors. The Indian soldiers displayed remarkable mettle and unparalleled courage in evicting the enemy forces that had intruded into our territory. The local support during that time was commendable, and the bond between the civil population and the military has only grown stronger over the years.

The archery tournament witnessed the participation of 130 archers, including girls, who showcased their enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The event garnered immense support and embraced the spirit of unity and patriotism. Mr. Mubarak Shah Naqvi, the Executive Councilor, graced the occasion as the guest of honor.

The local authorities lauded the efforts of the Indian Army in organizing constructive activities for the youth of Kargil, aiming to motivate them to reach greater heights. This archery competition served as a platform for the young participants to connect with the valorous legacy of their region and be inspired to emulate the bravery of our soldiers.
