Drugs and Food Control Organization Kargil Marks International Day Against Drug Abuse with Awareness Program

News Desk, June 26: In observance of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 26th June 2023, the Drugs and Food Control Organization Kargil, in collaboration with the Chemist and Druggist Association Kargil, organized a comprehensive awareness program in Kargil. The event aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking while promoting a healthier and drug-free community.

The awareness program witnessed the participation of prominent figures in the healthcare sector, who shared their expertise and insights. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Kargil, the Drugs Control Officer of Kargil, the District TB Officer of Kargil, the District Immunization Officer of Kargil, and the President of the Chemist Association Kargil were the main speakers during the event.

The CMO of Kargil shed light on the health implications of drug abuse, emphasizing the importance of prevention, early intervention, and access to quality healthcare services for those struggling with addiction. The Drugs Control Officer of Kargil discussed the measures undertaken to curb illicit drug trafficking and highlighted the need for collective efforts to eradicate this menace.
