CEC Kargil Inaugurates Point 13620 in Kargil to Boost Tourism

Kargil, June 21: Point 13620, a breathtaking vantage point overlooking the border, was officially inaugurated and opened to the public.

The ceremony, attended by esteemed dignitaries and key stakeholders, marked a significant milestone in both Kargil’s tourism industry and the promotion of the Indian Army.

The inauguration was carried out by the Honorable Chief Executive Councillor (H.C.E.C) Feroz Khan, who commended the collective efforts of all stakeholders involved in making this initiative a reality. Joining him were Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Santosh sir, and other distinguished guests, including Laksay Singhal Sir, ACR Zargar Sahab, CPO Abdul Hadi, Tourism Officer Rasool Lal, and Hotelier Hasanain.

The decision to open Point 13620 to the public is a landmark move, spearheaded by the ADGPI (Army Directorate General of Public Information) and firefurycorps, aimed at promoting tourism in the border areas and raising awareness about the valor and dedication of the Indian Army.

Located in close proximity to the border town of Kargil, Point 13620 offers a panoramic view of the majestic Himalayan landscape, allowing visitors to witness the unparalleled natural beauty of the region.

The opening of this iconic viewpoint is expected to attract tourists from all corners of the globe, providing them with an opportunity to experience the rich history, culture, and picturesque landscapes that Kargil has to offer.

Tourism Officer Rasool Lal expressed his excitement, stating, “Point 13620 is a true gem of Kargil, and its opening will undoubtedly contribute to the growth of tourism in our region. Visitors will now have the chance to witness the remarkable beauty of our landscape and gain a deeper understanding of the valor displayed by our brave Indian Army personnel.”
