An open Letter to the administration of Ladakh

I am writing to address a recent unfortunate incident in Kargil Town, where a bomb blast occurred on April 16, 2023, resulting in the injury of two teenagers and the death of one. As a digital media source, I was informed that Lieutenant Governor Ladakh visited the victims and offered condolences to the family of the deceased, as well as provided compensation to the respective families.

However, I cannot help but think that this incident could have been prevented if the local government had taken action since the Kargil war in 1999. I am not blaming anyone, but it is shameful that after two decades, we are just now being notified about these bombs. It is clear that people are living in a war zone area, including the location where the blast occurred, which is within a 1km radius of the Indian army. They also failed to recognize that they should check out the most impacted areas during the war.

I am questioning whether this misshape occurred due to government negligence or if it was just a coincidence. If it is the former, I beseech the administration of Ladakh to implement a sanitization scheme throughout Kargil to prevent this from happening again. It is important to prioritize this over promoting tourism and other unimportant matters.

It is also essential to check all the war-impacted areas, including Kurbathang, where the general public has been restricted from accessing. However, it is impossible to restrict them, especially since major government institutions are located nearby. Some people also use the area for agriculture purposes, and a link road runs through the hotspot area, connecting Choskore village with the town.

As a responsible citizen, I believe it is necessary to check all these areas at least once. I beseech the administration of Ladakh, especially the sitting CEC and Deputy Commissioner Kargil, to take action and check all the impacted areas. It is time to prioritize this issue, as all major developmental works are happening in the same spot, such as the district hospital, ice hockey ring, football turf, airport, and more. If we do not address this issue, it could be hazardous in the near future.

Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely,
FewRose Barpa
A student and responsible citizen of nation

This was very unfortunate for all of us even it has crossed many times but still yet it is not senitized due to this neglect this incident occurred and two child injured badly and one child lost their leaves it is all due to careless if administration.
This is not first incident but before it some many others were also hit by bombs in this area and adminstration not bothered their concern over it.
Now one question is rising on adminstration that why they not show their concern over this while it has occured many times since 1999 to 2023?
We request to to UT Government of ladakh to check out all kargil border area and my special thanks to LG ladakh BD Mishra for their immediate response on this matter
