AKSAD Concludes its Annual Election 2023 and Oath Declaration Ceremony in Delhi

VoL Desk, April 24: On April 22, 2023, the All Kargil (Ladakh) Students’ Association Delhi (AKSAD) successfully concluded its Annual Election for the year 2023 at Jamia Ahlebait Public School, Shaheen Bagh, Delhi. The Advisory Body of AKSAD had released the notification for the Election on April 17 and had maintained April 19 as the last date for filing the nomination form.

A total of 15 members had filled the nomination form for different posts such as President, Vice President, Finance Secretary, General Secretary, and Media Coordinator. However, two candidates later withdrew their nomination forms, reducing the total number of candidates to 13. Out of these 13 candidates, 2 contested for the post of President, 4 contested for the post of Vice President, 2 contested for the post of Finance Secretary, 2 contested for the post of General Secretary, and 2 contested for the post of Media Coordinator.

The voting process was held on April 22, and all the candidates delivered speeches addressing their visions and missions to the audience before voting commenced. However, a candidate for Vice President was rejected due to their absence on the voting day, reducing the contesting candidates for the post to 4.

The Advisory Body, along with some inducted senior members, functioned as the Election Committee to supervise and conduct the whole Election process in accordance with AKSAD’s bylaws. Around 280 members of AKSAD cast their votes through ballot papers.

After the counting process, the Election results were declared, and the following candidates were declared winners for the mentioned posts: Mohammad Ismail: President, Atullah Khan: Vice President, Hakima Batool: General Secretary, Zaheer Abass: Finance Secretary, Shabir Hussain: Media Coordinator.

Following the announcement of the Election results, the Oath Declaration process took place in which the elected candidates took an oath to serve AKSAD sincerely and preserve its dignity, unity, integrity, and sovereignty at any cost till their last breath while serving in their elected posts.
