LBA Kargil, Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam Leh raise objection on High Powered Committee membership

VoL Desk, Jan 4: After the establishment of the High Powered Committee (HPC) by Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to discuss long-pending issues of Ladakh, a new row has been erupted over members included in the committee.

On the inclusion of Tsewang Nurboo in the committee mentioning him as president of Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) Kargil, the organization has raised objection saying that Nurboo is not the President.
The LBA in a statement said that Skarma Dadul is recognised president of the LBA Kargil and he should be included in the Committee instead of Tsewang Norboo.

The Youth Wing of the Anjuman Moin ul Islam Leh on January 3 expressed resentment against the non-inclusion of Sunni Muslim member in the High Power committee.

“It was unanimously felt by all the members that it is very unfortunate that in this High Power committee, Government has once again neglected the Sunni Muslims, which have its presence in every nook and corner of Ladakh right from Turtuk to Drass, the said committee seems to be constituted with ill motive and is biased in nature”, read a press release issued by the organisation.

“Anjuman Moin Ul Islam Youth wing Leh on behalf of all the Sunni Muslim from Nubra, Turtuk to Kargil, Zanskar, Drass have strongly condemned and reject this High Power Committee for alienating one of the important stake holder of Ladakh”, read the press release.

Anjuman Moin Ul Islam youth Wing after through discussion and deliberation felt it necessary to issues following decision and request;

It is now the prime responsibility of all the Sunni Muslim in ruling party to lodge their resentment at party and govt level for non-inclusion of Sunni Muslim in the High Power Committee and make it sure to rectify the list within a time frame of 7 days failing which all the Sunni Muslim members should resign from their primary membership along with their posts and portfolios.

The LAB and KDA have called their joint meeting in Jammu on January 7 to discuss the MHA order and decide future course of action. As of now, they haven’t suspended their agitation but will take a call on this in January 7 meeting.
