Kargil Police solve burglary cases, accuse arrested

Kargil, Dec. 25: Kargil police has succeeded in solving  three burglary  cases: (1)case FIR No.80/2022 under section 457, 380 IPC, (2) case FIR No.118/2022 under section 457, 380 IPC, (3) case FIR No.130/2022 under section 457, 380 IPC at Kargil, the Police media cell announced in a press release.

The police has arrested the accuse namely Farooq Ahmad Khan, son of Mohd Sharif Khan, a resident of Palipora, Boniyar, Baramulla, who is currently running a shop named Mughal Bakery at Main Market Kargil.

The police has allegedly recovered 12 mobile phones worth about four lakh from the procession of the accused which were allegedly stolen from Nisar Hussain Electronic Shop, Main Bazar Kargil. The police has also recovered an equipment used during the commission of theft by the accused.

The accused has allegedly stolen jewellery worth four lakhs, cash about two lakhs and mobile phones worth six lakhs from 10 different locations of Kargil mainly around Main Town on different occasions by breaking the shop shutters with steel rod during late night hours.

Whereas seven theft incidents out of 10 which were not reported has also been commissioned by the same person, accused the Kargil Police in the press release.

After committing the theft the accused used to sold the stolen jewellery and maximum number of mobile phones at Srinagar to different people in order to avoid the risk of being nabbing and get caught by local Police.

Investigation of the rest of the cases are under progress and with questioning of the accused more recovery of stolen property is expected.

The whole investigation was carried out by Kargil Police under the supervision of Sh. Iftikhar Ahmad Choudhary JKPS, Additional SP Kargil and overall supervision of Sh. Anayat Ali IPS, SSP Kargil.

Kargil Police appealed the General Public to report such incidents happening in their area so that culprits shall be booked under law.
