First Elective Caesarean Section Performed At CHC Sankoo

SANKOO, 07 Nov 2022: For the first of its kind in Sankoo-Suru valley of Kargil a lower segment cesarian section (elective) operation was conducted on today successfully at Community Health Center (CHC) Sankoo.

The first elective caesarean section was performed by Dr. Nasreen fatima gynaecologist obstetrician, Dr.Abass Ali consultant Anesthetist, Dr. Amina Khatoon Anaesthetist. Dr. Ahmad Ali Consultant Orthopaedician, Dr. Anwar Hussain Consultant Paediatrician of District Hospital Kargil, Sajjad Ali Mir Anesthesia Assistant DHK, Altaf Hussain and Mohd Safi OT assistant of CHC Sankoo under supervision Block Medical Officer, CHC, Sankoo Dr Ghulam Hussain.

An active baby girl was delivered and post operative was uneventful.

Dr. Anwar Hussain Consultant Paediatrician District Hospital Kargil imparting knowledge about handling the new born baby to staff nurses at CHC sankoo.

It would be pertinent to mention here that, the operation theatre at CHC Sankoo was made functional in month of 1st July 2022 by Chairman Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC, Kargil Shri Feroz Ahmad on National Doctor’s Day.

Mohd Hadi a patient attendent  said, that this has come as a huge relief to the affected patients of this area and are all praise for this facilities at CHC Hospital Sankoo.

He thanks to all the team member of who conducted this case successfully.

Dr Nasreen Fatima while speaking to media said that since the day of joining she felt the dire need of healthcare especially for the women folk.

She said that her first appointment was at District Hospital but she prefers to work at Sankoo which is the most densely populated area of the district.

At Sankoo she tested tubal patency and intrauterine insemination for infertile cases and PAP SMEAR for cervical cancer screening also.

She further added that after so many years today her dream to give complete obstetric care at Community Health center Sankoo including surgical intervention has been accomplished. It was possible only under the guidance of consultants from Kargil District Hospital, BMO Sankoo Dr Ghulam Hussain and Chief Medical office Kargil Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir.

Talking about the patient and the case she said, that the patient namely Husniya  Banoo W/O Mohd Hadi R/O Lankerchey was not getting normal pains even after almost two weeks beyond her date of delivery.

She stayed under follow up till date when she was operated on. “The way she was expressing her gratitude even on the OT table is printed in my memory forever and I am really satisfied and happy that the mother and baby are fine and pray for speedy recovery of the patient”, She concluded with the hope to continue with the services.
