VoL Desk, August 08: Director (Projects), NHPC Limited, Mr Biswajit Basu during his visit to Kargil district convened a meeting with CEC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan and DC Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve.

The Director also inspected various projects of the NHPC, 44 MW Chutuk Hydro Electricity project, project affected areas of village Minji and Unique Apricot Orchard Land Minji Gound during his visit to Kargil District along with Independent Directors and Executive Director of NHPC Limited.

The Director, Mr Biswajit Basu was accompanied by Group General Manager, Chutuk Power Station and Nimoo Bazgo Power Station, Mr Bikram Singh, and other officials of the NHPC Chutuk Power Station.

Sh. Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects), Sh. S. K. Sandhu, Executive Director and Sh. Bikram Singh, Head of Chutak Power Station also called upon CEC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan and DC Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve. The meeting discussed development of new small hydroelectric projects and Solar Projects in the district Kargil.

Director (Projects) assured the CEC Kargil that new hydro projects and Solar projects allotted to NHPC for development will be completed within scheduled time as NHPC has dedicated team and has proven track record. CSR initiatives to be undertaken by NHPC in the current year and coming year were also discussed in the meeting.

Earlier on August 07, Committee of Directors, Executive Director and Group General Manager inspected both  Oxygen Plant (500 LPM) installed under CSR initiative of NHPC at District Hospital Kargil and CHC Sankoo. CMO Kargil, BMO Sankoo and Sh. Hassan, SE, Mechanical Division, Kargil were present during the visit. It was explained by CMO Kargil that oxygen plant at district hospital kargil is running 24×7 without break due to huge demand of medical Oxygen.

On Monday, the Director Projects Mr Biswajit Basu met with a delegation of Panchayati Raj Institution members of village Minji Gound who thanked him for sanctioning and releasing of funds for construction of lift irrigation system at Unique Orchard Land at Minji Gound.

Later, Director (Projects), NHPC Limited, Mr Biswajit Basu also visited the Unique Apricot Orchard land. It was informed that around 4000 apricot trees have planted in the Unique Orchard Land which was initiated by the Director (Projects), NHPC Limited, Biswajit Basu when he was serving as the Chief Engineer at Chutuk Power Station in 2017. The PRI members welcomed Mr Biswajit Basu with traditional Ladakhi khatak and expressed gratitude for his social and welfare contributions in the village that include the development of unique apricot orchard land, free winter coaching for students, development of irrigation kuls, public sanitation and waste/ garbage management system in the village.
