KARGIL, JUNE 05, 2022: Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust, Kargil paid rich tribute to Ayatollah Rouhullah Mousavi Khomeini on his 33rd demise anniversary here at Hussaini Park in Kargil.

On the occasion, prominent Indian Shia scholar Moulana Qazi Syed Mohammad Askari presided as the Chief Guest, while various special guests from Iran viz Agha Hamid Raza Shah Hussaini, Agha Akbar Ibrahimi, Mohammad Hussain Khudawardi, Jaffar Shariati, Agha Behju, Agha Muhammad Amin Mehdavipur, Imam Juma Bathandi Jammu, Moulana Syed Zawwar Hussain Jaffary, President Anjuman Imamia Leh Ashraf Barcha, President Anjuman Moinul Islam Leh, Dr Abdul Qayyom, Chairman Imamia Mission School Agha Syed Naqi Shah and other guests were present.

While Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan, Chairman IKMT, Sheikh Sadiq Rajai, Chairman Guardian Council Sheikh Mohammad Mohaqiq, and member Guardian Council, Asgar Ali Karbalai among others were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Moulana Qazi Mohammad Askari said that “we are gathered here today to remember a personality whose remembrance may not be of any benefit to himself, but remembering him will surely benefit us”.

“The revolution led by Imam Khomeini was not merely a change of the government but it was a revolution of values. He changed the values and meaning of government, politics and morality”, Qazi Askari added.

Qazi Askari further said that Imam Khomeini is not the founder of the concept of Wilayat Faqih but he revived the concept that was hidden and limited to books. There is not a single cleric who doesn’t endorse the system of Wilayat-e-Faqih.

Chief Executive Councillor, Feroz Khan said that Imam Khomeini is the personality who gave Islam an identity. It is not judicious to confine him with a particular community, because he was for mankind as he coined the slogan “Neither East nor West; only Islam.”

“Since the beginning of the Islamic Revolution of Iran many changes have been observed in Kargil also, especially in the field of education and particularly to females”, Feroz Khan added.

He also emphasised unity to achieve the larger interest by bypassing the minor differences between groups and factions in the society. He further appreciated the IKMT for its contribution to society.

Molana Syed Zawar Hussain Jaffery, Imam Jumma Bathandi, Jammu emphasised the need to adopt the teachings of Imam Khomeini in our daily life. He further emphasised brotherhood and unity among the Muslim Ummah which was one of the primary goals of Imam Khomeini.

Chairman, IKMT Sheikh Sadiq Rajai while speaking on the occasion, read the message of Agha Mehdi Mehdavipur addressed to the people of Kargil.

Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai, Sheikh Mohammad Mohaqiq, Haji Akbar Ibrahimi also threw light on the life, teachings and contributions of Imam Khomeini.

Poet Nasiruddin Khafi, Mohammad Ali Noushin, students of Mutahhary Public School, and pupils of Hozah Imam Khomeini paid rich tribute to the former leader Ayatollah Khomeini with hymns and taranas.
