NYK Kargil organizes district level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament

KARGIL, MARCH 17, 2022: Nehru Yuva Kendra Kargil in collaboration with Youth Initiative Kargil today organized a district-level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament here at Auditorium Hall.

Executive Councilor for works, Aga Syed Abass Razvi was the chief guest on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve was the guest of honor, Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) Raziya Khatoon, Assistant Professor Dr Javed Naqi, Advocate Zahid Hussain (Associate Law officer), Dr Rinchen Dolker Scientist KVK Kargil were present on the occasion as resource persons besides large number of students from different schools, colleges of the district were also present.

The program began with a welcome address by District Youth Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra Kargil Jigmat Spaldon. She explained that the objective of the program is to educate the youth about important issues like career guidance, entrepreneurship opportunities in agriculture in Kargil, scholarships and fellowships for higher studies, awareness about social evils, to create an institutional platform where youth can articulate their views on various themes and also to enable them to share their experiences and ideas.

On the occasion, EC Works congratulated organizers for conducting a resourceful program for spreading awareness among the students about the various career opportunities and scholarships available especially for ST students in the country and abroad as well.

Highlighting the importance of education the EC urged students to set particular goals with respect to their choices and said that commitment, dedication and hard work are must.

EC Razvi requested organizers to organize such programs at the peripheries of the district and said that LAHDC Kargil is committed to extend all support for the betterment of education.

Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve urged students to take maximum benefits of the program and spread awareness among other students as well.

Terming youths as the backbone in the development of the country, DC said in today’s India, youth play a fundamental role in the socio-economic development of the country.

He said apart from the government jobs, various opportunities are available for the educated youths in the private sector as well.

DC Santosh said that correct guidance and handwork is important to achieve their respective goals. He said such programs will guide students in the long run.

DC Kargil also urged students to use various online platforms in the correct way as the abundance of knowledge and information is available at such platforms.

DC Santosh said that in the coming future, District Administration Kargil will also hold career counseling programs and assured students that many new scholarship schemes will also be made available by the administration for the benefit of students.

Earlier, resource persons including Dr Rinchen Dolkar, a women scientist delivered her presentation on careers in agriculture, scope and opportunities for entrepreneurship development in agriculture with special reference to Kargil.

Assistant Professor, GDC Kargil, Dr Javid Naqi delivered his talk on scholarships and fellowships for higher studies in India and abroad along with career opportunities available for youth in various fields.

Advocate Zahid Hussain highlighted the legal rights of women and various ways to cope with social evils.

The program ended with an interactive question answer session followed by the vote of thanks to all participants, students, resource persons, guests and volunteers.
