Engage locals on contractual AP posts at University of Ladakh: AKSAD

VoL Desk, March 08, 2022: The All Kargil Students’ Association Delhi (AKSAD) expressed strong resentment over giving preference for non-Ladakh aspirants in the recently declared results for engagement of Assistant Professors on a contractual basis in the University of Ladakh (UoL).

“We are writing to express our deep concern over the ongoing recruitment process of Assistant Professor (A.P) on temporary arrangement at the University of Ladakh. We strongly condemn this recruitment process by the University as it is a joke with the youths of Ladakh” read a letter that the student body has written to LG Ladakh, VC of the varsity, Secretary, CEC Leh, and Kargil and the MP Ladakh on Thursday.

“During the recruitment process, it had been observed that most of the candidates were from outside UT Ladakh which will ultimately deprive most of the Ladakhi candidates of the post since the outstation students are way ahead of native students in research and other fields.

“The sole purpose of creating the University of Ladakh was to provide maximum benefits to the Ladakhi people which the said process is not concerning. “In this regard, AKSAD demands the immediate halt of this recruitment process which should be rescheduled after the inclusion of LRC as eligibility criteria. We also demand the addition of LRC as the eligibility criteria in all Non-Gazetted Posts of Ladakh UT.
