KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 02, 2021: Escalating the restriction on ply of Kargil taxis on inner routes of Ladakh row, Kargil district observe complete shutdown here today.

All vehicles, public and private transports, merchants, retailers and other establishment are closed in the whole district. While some demonstrators set types on fire on roads and kept various routes closed for transport.

Sources told that roads are blocked at Chutuk near Chutuk Heights, Baroo-Do Bridge, and Shilikchay where all private vehicles are stopped by the demonstrators while allowing only Government vehicles to ply.

The Taxi Union row escalated when their President Taxi Operators and Owners Association Kargil Mohammad Ibrahim and Management Director of the Association Hassan Pasha were detained in Leh on Wednesday after protest outside the Raj Bhawan.

Pertinent to mention that, after arrest of their leaders the taxi operators yesterday took out a huge protest March in Kargil town from Taxi Stand to Lal Chowk.
