Baqirya completes Screening, Vaccination of Sankoo, Taisuru against Hepatitis-B

Kargil, September 26, 2021: In a move towards achieving the target of the Mission Hepatitis B Free Kargil, Baqirya Health Care and Research Centre Kargil, health wing IKMT flagged off its 5th phase of its Mission against Hepatitis B towards Suru valley on 25th September 2021.

The Flag off ceremony was attended by the CEC LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan as Chief Guest, Santosh Sukhdev DM/ CEO LAHDC Kargil as guest of Honour and Chairman IKMT Sheikh Sadiq Rajai in presence of over 200 doctors and paramedical volunteers of Baqirya.

Baqirya launched its 5th phase in Sankoo Block from Lankerchey Brok to Chechesna and part of Tai Suru block including Karpo Khar to Damsana. The 5th phase included 17 teams including technical support with lab Assistant, vaccinators, pharmacists headed by team leaders and under the overall supervision of the President BHC&RC Dr Willayat, VP BHC&RC Dr Oliyat and other Doctors of Baqirya and Block Medical Officer CHC Sankoo Dr Gh Hassan and Dr Sajad Hussain.

Over all event was also supervised by the Chairman IKMT accompanied by members of Baseej e Imam and the members of Baseej e Ruhanion IKMT Kargil. The Mission was supported by the Baseeji volunteers of Anjumane sahib Zaman(as), and Anjumane Imam e Raza(as) in Sankoo and Taisuru.

In an inaugural ceremony at CHC Sankoo, the event began with the recitation of Quran by Syed Abbas Rizvi, and Chairman Anjumane Sahib Zaman Sheikh Ballaghi narrated the importance of service to mankind and highly appreciated the services provided by Baqirya time and again.

Syed Ali representing Anjuman e Tablighat e Imam Raza sankoo thanked the team of Baqirya for such a mega event and expressed gratitude for their service to humanity.

President Baqirya Dr Willayat Ali thanking the volunteers, paramedics, staff CHC Sankoo and Taisuru, BMO sankoo explained the audience about the importance of this Mission and urged the mass for active participation especially the young and womenfolk.

The Mission concluded peacefully and smoothly with great zeal among the public and at various stations between 5:30 pm to 6:30 cue for Vaccination witnessed and the team leaders reported alongwith the logistics and their staff at CHC Sankoo.

Baqirya successfully screened
2062 and vaccinated 1891 against Hepatitis-B in the population of 14- 60 years of age in Sankoo area and finally marched towards Taisuru for its Mission against Hepatitis-B.

Under 5th phase of the Mission, Main inaugural program was held at Imambara Taisuru and attended by Ulmas of Anjuman Sahib Zaman, Anjuman Qarown-e- Mehdi, Baseej Baqeyatullah and hundreds of general public. Huge crowd and que for Vaccination in the morning was observed.

Out of total target of 6652, 2302 were vaccinated after proper screening. Age below 14 yrs is presumed to be vaccinated under the national immunization programme. Its pertinent to mention here that almost 30-35% of the population were found to be immunized by self and this awareness came to majority of the masses through the mission launched by Baqirya in other parts of Kargil and nearby villages. And this markedly reduced the burden during the 5th phase.

Volunteers, paramedical staff and Doctors assembled at the Baqirya Complex Biamathang Kargil at 9 pm. President BHC & RC extended warm thanks and respect to the stake holders who supported the mission financially, physically or morally and remained important pillar to accomplish the mission smoothly. He also appreciated and extended gratitude to the youths of Taisuru, the Baseejis of various organization’s, the team led by Mr Mohammad Ali, Abdul Hadi, Hashim Sahil and Nazir who arranged dinner and breakfast for more than 180 Volunteers and staff of BHC&RC during the stay at Taisuru.
