Secy, IT Ladakh inaugurates training on Big Data Analytics, Cyber Security in Leh

LEH, April, 23: The 3-day training programme on ‘Big Data Analytics & Cyber Security’ commenced today in Leh. The training was inaugurated by Secretary, Information Technology, Ladakh Saugat Biswas. Earlier this month two more training were conducted for the officers of Ladakh administration, one on ‘Govt. Process Reengineering’ and another 3-day training on ‘Detail Project Report (DPR), Request For Proposal (RFP) and Contract Management’. 

The training was attended by senior and middle-level officers including Secretaries to the Government.  

The training on Big Data Analytics and Cyber Security will focus on the efficient sourcing of data, processing of data with contemporary IT tools and optimization of analysis of big data. The training will extensively deal with cybersecurity, issues of hacking, protection from security threats, investigation and legal matters surrounding cyber security.

Information Technology Department has been conducting these training in collaboration with the National Institute for Smart Governance, Hyderabad. The NISG has been pulling in expert resources from various parts of the country. 

The experts conducting the training are Satayjit Vagvala, SGM NISG; G. Chamu, GM NISG; Jagdish Viswanathan,GM, NISG; Madala Venkateshwarlu, Founder Ciberts; and Sandeep Madulkar, CEO, Sytech Labs.

“The administration of UT Ladakh looks forward to empowering the officials of the Union Territory, Ladakh with the latest and contemporary knowledge and skills in Information Technology”, said Secretary, Information Saugat Biswas during his inaugural address. 

He also urged the participants to be conscious and knowledgeable while handling and processing data. “The importance of cyber security both in the larger public domain and personnel computing needs cannot be understated. We need to be fully conversant as responsible public servants in these fields,” added Biswas.

The training on ‘Big Data Analytics & Cyber Security’ was attended by 32 participants from various departments including Planning; Information Technology; Police, Statistical; GAD and NIELET. Over 100 participants took part in all the three trainings.
