KARGIL, APRIL 27, 2021: Executive Councilor for Tourism, RD and Zanskar Affair LAHDC Kargil Er Punchok Tashi laid the foundation stone for the up-gradation of Zanskar Sarai here at Leh today. The project has been taken up under the CAPEX budget for an estimated cost of Rs 1.44 crore.

Er. Punchok Tashi extended his gratitude to Chairman LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan and Deputy Commissioner/CEO LAHDC Kargil for their whole-hearted support in this noble gesture.

This Sarai has been constructed and maintained by Zanskar Social Welfare Association Leh mostly comprises of people of Zanskar settled in Leh who have been extending their unconditional and selfless service towards the patient and other needy people of Zanskar at Leh, maintained a press brief uploaded by the EC on his social media page.

EC Tashi in his speech appreciated the role played by the members of Zanskar Social Welfare Association Leh to date in the proper functioning of the Sarai.

Councilor Cha Stanzin Lakpa, SDM Zanskar Sonam Dorjay, Executive Engineer PWD Zanskar Er Mohd Abass, President Zanskar Social welfare Association Tsering Shanti and many other people from Zanskar were present during the foundation laying ceremony.
