Leh, March 15: A one-day awareness camp was jointly conducted by the Department of Horticulture and Department of Agriculture today at Sumoor. Councillor, Tegar, Rigzen Lundup was the chief guest for the event.

Horticulture Development Officer, Leh, Mohammad Jaffer and Agriculture Extension Officers (AEO), Ghulam Hussain and Tashi Wangdus apprised the farmers of the different techniques and methods of pruning and trimming of plants, the layout of orchards, budding and grafting, pit-digging, preparation of compost and various cultivation practices.

BDC, sarpanch, nambardar and farmers were present during the event.
