Ladakh Winter Conclave 2021 Concludes in Kargil

KARGIL, FEBRUARY 23, 2020:  As part of the various activities in connection with the 2nd edition of the Ladakh Winter Conclave, 2021, on the final day, cultural performances, heritage walk, and archery matches besides sightseeing of various historic and religious sites were organized for the guests in Garkone, Chiktan and Bodh Kharboo areas.

Assistant Director Tourism Kargil Aga Syed Toha, prominent tour operators, travel agents, members of All Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) , bloggers, travel journalists and filmmakers from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, West Bengal, J&K and tourism and travel trade fraternity of Kargil were present on the occasion. 

Assistant Director Tourism Kargil, Aga Syed Toha extended his thankfulness to the stakeholders of the Kargil tourism fraternity and local population of all villages of Kargil where the guests had visited for making the programmes successful and presenting the crux of Kargil’s rich culture and traditions before the guests.

The AD Tourism added that by visit of the tour operators and experts of this trade from across the country to the district during the Ladakh Winter Conclave, the expectations of the Kargil tourism fraternity and locals has gone up and it is hoped that the team of experts, bloggers, journalists who have come over here from different states will certainly motivate people to visit Kargil and be the ambassadors of this place to promote its immense tourism potential far and wide.

Secretary ADTOI, Anil K. Rajput suggested the settlers of the villages of Darchiks, Gakone, Bodh Kharboo and Chiktan and to preserve their culture and traditions and the folk artists of Darchiks and Garkone were presented gifts as token of love, on behalf of all the guests.

Sudhir Anant Patel of Veena World thanked the Department of Tourism, UT Ladakh for the tremendous hospitality and also for providing the guests with the opportunity to visit the culturally rich places of Garkone, Chiktan, Bodh Kharboo, Suru Valley, and Drass and other tourism potential and historically important sites in Kargil district. He added that all out efforts will be made to send maximum number of tourists to the district, and he will specially convince them to visit Kargil again and again in future.

Cultural dances and singing performances by the artists of Darchiks and Garkone villages were showcased at Garkone Shagaran.

An archery match was organized for the guests at Khardun Chiktan where the local scholars Muhammad Sadiq Hardassi and Kacho Hassan Khan briefed them about the history of the Chiktan Razi Khar castle.

Later, the final event of the conclave was organized at Bodh Kharboo Monastery were historic and cultural traditions of the village were narrated to the guests.
