DC Kargil Requests Com./ Secy. To Open Center for Competitive Exams

Kargil/ Dec. 16/ News Desk/ Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Baseer ul Haq Choudhary in a written communique to the Commissioner Secretary Ladakh raised the demand to open examination centers of various professional and academic examinations at Kargil.

The DC put up the issue on Wednesday when the Students’ Educational Movement of Kargil (SEMOK) in a letter to the DC demanded opening of the examination centers.

“… due to the non-availability of examination centers of all the above mentioned (SSC, NEET, JEE, AIEEE, NET, GATE, IBPS, UPSC, IIT-JAM etc) causes greater hindrance to get their talent competed, as it is not possible to everyone to travel other cities like Srinagar, Leh, Jammu or anywhere else” for appearing in exams. The letter also cited an instance where a “brilliant” student had lost his life in an accident on the way back to home after attending NET examination at Leh.

“Keeping in view the above facts and several other unmentioned facts and reasons, it is our humble request to your good self to please make official recommendations to respective authorities regarding the opening of examination centers of all such examinations”.

The DC in his letter to the Commissioner Secretary maintained that “The students are requesting for opening of exam center at Kargil so that they may not put in additional burden of travel and make possible to everyone to attend the examinations especially during winter months when all vehicular passes remain cut-off”. “In view of the above circumstances, it is requested to kindly take appropriate action in the matter for opening of exam centers at Kargil at an earliest”.
