IKMT Kargil Holds Massive Rally in Solidarity with Palestine on International Quds Day

Kargil, April 14: To express solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine, the Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust in Kargil organized a massive rally at Kargil bazaar on International Quds Day.

Following the tradition set by Ayatollah Khomeini, the procession took place on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan after Friday prayers. The rally began at Jama Masjid Kargil and concluded at Hussaini Park, where the demonstrators chanted slogans against Israel, America, and other arrogant powers while expressing support for Palestine.

Former Member of Legislative Assembly, Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai, addressed the rally and highlighted the history of Zionist tactics that led to the formation of the illegal state of Israel, which has disrupted the peace in West Asia.

He also stated that after the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the Palestinian movement has gained strength, while Israel has weakened to the point that Israeli thinkers predict it may not see its 80th year of existence.

Karbalai criticized the BJP-led central government in Delhi for its Hindutva politics of polarization and marginalization, including the persecution of minorities under the guise of love jihad and cow vigilantism.

He also raised local issues in Ladakh, including the demand for statehood and inclusion in the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. Karbalai called for the government to initiate direct talks with Ladakh leaders and stop delaying discussions over their four-point agendas.

He emphasized that the people of Ladakh are crystal clear about their agendas, which include statehood for Ladakh, the generation of job opportunities for local youth, and separate Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha seats for Leh and Kargil.
