Workshop on Pediatric/Parent Sensitization for Specially-Abled Persons Held in Kargil

VoL Desk, March 08: Baqirya Health Care and Research Centre (BHC&RC) collaborated with Voluntary Medicare Society, Srinagar and Education Department UT Ladakh to organize a workshop on pediatric/parent sensitization for specially-abled persons of District Kargil at Hotel The Kargil on Wednesday.

The event was graced by the presence of Director, School Education, Dr Safdar Ali IRS, as the chief guest, Joint Director, Information/Additional Secretary, Higher Education, Ladakh, as the guest of honour, and Chief Medical Officer, Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, as the special guest.

Dr Zakia Banoo from VMS was the key speaker who sensitized parents about their specially-abled children. Dr Zakia informed the audience about appropriate behavior to take care of special-abled persons, their rights, and benefits provided by the government. She also spoke about the various facilities provided by the Voluntary Healthcare Society subcenter at Baqirya Complex in Kargil.

In his speech, the chief guest Dr Safdar Ali advised the public to adopt appropriate behavior while dealing with specially-abled persons. He further assured to provide all kinds of support in the future to sensitize and handle issues of special-abled persons, especially in school.

Joint Director, Imteeaz Kacho, and CMO Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir also spoke on the occasion and urged the public to streamline their behavior towards special-abled persons and make them feel comfortable.
