Rare Himalayan Lynx Spotted in Ladakh Captured on Video
VoL Desk, Mar. 02: A rare and beautiful wild cat species, the Himalayan Lynx, has been spotted in Ladakh and captured on video.
The footage, posted on social media by Sherine Fatima, a singer from the Balti community in Leh, shows the small yet fearless creature being barked at by a group of dogs before resting on a wall.
Indian Forest Service officer and wildlife enthusiast, Parveen Kaswan, confirmed that the animal is a Himalayan Lynx, which is one of the rare wild cat species found in India, along with Snow leopards and Pallas cats.

The video has since gone viral, with many expressing their awe and excitement at the sighting of this elusive and majestic creature.

I have seen Lynx around Tso Miriri and Tsokar lakes as Chief Wildlife Warden.
