Police Arrest One in Connection with Online Recruitment “Exam Scam” in Leh

VoL Desk, Mar. 02: Police in Leh have uncovered an online recruitment exam scam and arrested one suspect, Greater Kashmir quoted the Superintendent of Police in Leh, PD Nitya.

The SP Leh, PD Nitya, stated that the police received a written complaint on February 21 from a JNV teacher named Pradeep Kumar, who was observing the KVS recruitment exam at the GCOM computer center in Leh.

Kumar alleged that the site supervisor, Adnan Ansari, was taking pictures of the computer screen showing the question papers.

An initial inquiry found that Ansari had sent the pictures to Diwakar Singh in Delhi, who works at the Lamdon online assessment center in Leh.

Further investigation revealed that Singh was instructed by Vijay Kumar of Rohtak, Haryana, to get the photos from Ansari and send them as a complaint to CBSE, causing the exam center to be moved to Lamdon computer lab, which Kumar and Shivam had rented since 2019.

The investigation found that the lab owners, along with the accused, had used sophisticated hardware and software to remotely enter answers and submit papers.

Six accused persons have been identified so far, and more are under investigation. The details of the accused persons are Vijay Kumar of Rohtak, Haryana, Shivam of Haryana, Abhishek of Haryana, Rahul Joon of Jhajjar, Haryana, Ravi Joon of Haryana and Rohit Dahiya of Haryana.

The police have gathered technical evidence with the help of experts from I-4C Delhi and are sending it for forensic examination. The accused are on the run, and police teams have been formed to apprehend them.
