Two-day training program on Assuring Optimal Technical Standards and Good Lab Practices in IPHL concludes

Leh, Dec 27: The State Health Society under National Health Mission, UT Ladakh in collaboration with the Centre for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC-India), SHARE India, BOLSTER Surveillance and 360 Help, organised a two-day training programme on Quality Management Systems for the Integrated Public Health Laboratory (IPHL) at Leh.

Organised in two batches on Dec 20-21 and Dec 22-23, the training was exclusively for the pathologists and lab technicians/assistants of both districts of UT Ladakh.

The resource person for the programme was Dr Ravinder Nath Bansal, a faculty at 360 Help.

He highlighted various topics, including Quality Management Systems, Management Clauses, Technical Clauses, Test Quality, Organisation, Document Control, Agreements with Clients, Vendors, Outsourcing Labs, Patient Complaints, Non- Compliances, Corrective and Preventive Actions, Internal Audit, Management Review and Handling Manpower.

Dr Nath also briefed about Infrastructure, Equipment and Reagent, Sample Collection, Test SOPs, Post-Testing Procedures, Reporting, Report Delivery, Information Technology, Quality Controls, Various EQAS Programs, CAPA of Outliers and SOP writing.

Pre and Post-tests were conducted during the training to evaluate the training progress.

Around 34 participants from the Leh and Kargil districts attended the said training programme.

On the last day, Dr Rinchen Angmo, State Consultant MCH, NHM Ladakh, felicitated the resource person, Dr Ravinder Bansal and the Coordinator.

Further, participants shared their experiences and requested to organise such workshops in future too.
