The employees informed that a new Account Officer was posted in the department on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Kargil. But due to the non-receipt of PFMS login ID, employees are not able to load their salaries on the portal.

The delegation also said that the funds of the department would be surrendered if the said ID was not issued to them on time.

The VoL Correspondent spoke to Director Accounts and Treasurer UT Ladakh Mr Amit Singh Chandal on telephonic call, but he expressed his ignorance in this regard and advised us to approach the Secretary, but we could not contact the Secretary.

Meanwhile, a delegation of PDC employees met the Acting Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor Agha Syed Abbas Rizvi and apprised him of the salary issues.

Reacting immediately to this, the Acting Chairman informed the Adviser to the Lieutenant Governor in writing about the problems. Taking prompt action, Advisor Umang Narula has directed the Director Accounts and Treasuries to intervene for the immediate release of employees’ salaries and other pending bills before it gets surrendered. It may be recalled that in the month of December of the current financial year, the Executive Engineer PDC, who also had an additional charge of P&AO of the department was transferred and Sajjad Hussain was posted as a new Account Officer. Due to unknown reasons, the login ID of PFMS has not been issued due to which other bills including salary bills have been pending since December.
