LAHDC Leh translates LAHDC Act 1997 in local language

VoL Desk, February 21, 2022: On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, the LAHDC Leh has translated the LAHDC Act 1997 in “Bhoti” language, informed the LAHDC Leh on tweeter.

“We at LAHDC Leh would like to extend our best wishes to everyone across the globe. The Hill Council Leh is committed for preserving and promoting our mother language”, maintained a press release issued by the Council.

The Council also unanimously passed a resolution by its Executive members for the inclusion of the Bhoti language in the 8th schedule of the Indian Constitution.

The Hill Council Leh has also stepped towards translating the LAHDC Act 1997 in Bhoti language to which it expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament, Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal who had a prominent role in translating the entire LAHDC Act 1997.

The draft has already been sent to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor for further approval.

On the other side, Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (LAACL), Leh organised a poetic symposium on the occasion of International Mother Language Day at LAACL Conference Hall.
