KARGIL, AUGUST 29, 2021: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil Tsering Motup flagged off Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at Auditorium Hall Kargil here today morning.

The freedom run has been organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kargil in collaboration with Sports Authority of India (SAI) Training Centre Kargil and District Administration Kargil.  

The run started from Auditorium Hall Kargil, and after passing through various locations of Kargil Market concluded at Tourist Facilitation Centre (TFC) Biamathang.

Assistant Director Information Kargil Muhammad Ali Tak, District Coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kargil Jigmet Spaldon, In Charge SAI Training Centre Kargil Ghulam Mustafa, In Charge Police Post Kargil Jameel Ahmad, concerned officials of SAI and NYK, volunteers, athletes and jawans of Ladakh Police participated in the run.

Speaking on the occasion, ADC Kargil Tsering Motup said that to commemorate the spirit of the 75 years of India’s Independence and to remember the sacrifices of the freedom fighters, several events are being held throughout the country, and this run is also a part of such events. 

ADC Kargil added that in the last 75 years our country has achieved enormously in different sectors and this occasion gives us an opportunity to remember and acknowledge it further, adding he said that we should remain steadfast and contribute towards the progress and development of the nation. He further suggested the youths to remain fitness conscious and also hailed the organizers for organising the event.

Earlier, District Coordinator NYK Kargil Jigmet Spaldon said that the major aim behind organizing the freedom run event is to promote importance of fitness amongst the people especially the youth as it helps them to keep lifestyle diseases away from themselves and society as well. She further said that yet another objective of the event is to enlighten the present generation about the sacrifices and struggles of the freedom fighters in attaining the country’s independence.
