DC Santosh reviews status of implementation of JJM in Kargil

KARGIL, MAY 08, 2021: Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve reviewed the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district during a meeting of the concerned officers here today.

Superintending Engineer, PWD Kargil Er Ved Prakash, Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Kargil Abdul Hadi, Executive Engineer PHE Subhash Chander, AEEs, AEs and JEs from the various blocks of the district attended the meeting.

During the course of the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of the provision of Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) for providing safe and adequate drinking water under the JJM scheme in the district.

He also inquired from the engineers about measures being taken for source sustainability including recharge and reuse through grey water management, water conservation and rain water harvesting.

The officers concerned informed the Deputy Commissioner that 1531 FHTCs have been completed till date while DPRS in respect of the remaining also stands completed.

The meeting was also informed that implementation support agency and 3rd party investigation agency have also been appointed in Kargil.

DC Santosh Sukhadeve while expressing dismay over the slow pace progress in implementation of the scheme in the district stressed officers concerned to accelerate the pace of works so that the targets are achieved in the stipulated timelines.

He directed the SE PWD, and Executive Engineer PHE to fix targets for every JE and also prepare details of the number of DPRS formulated, tenders allotted and the remaining works.

Regarding the land issues with regard to JJM implementation, DC the officers to ensure that all such issues are solved by engaging with the Councilors, local religious heads, PRI members and village heads who have wide and strong acceptance on the ground level.
