Kargil, April 15, 2021: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Unit Kargil District President Haji Abdul Hussain along with other workers of the party’s district unit called upon Deputy Commissioner Kargil Shri Santosh Sukhadeve (IAS) at his office Baroo Kargil UT Ladakh.

The other members were Senior BJP Leader Mohd Ali Majaz State Vice President, Mohd Hassan Pasha State Media Secretary, Mohd Hussain Baba BJYM State Vice President, Ahmad Hussain District Media Secretary and Ghulam Hussain Block President Bimbhat Drass.
 
The delegation raised the issue of acute shortage of essentials Commodities in Kargil district. The closure of the Srinagar-Kargil national highway due to heavy snow at Zojila has lead to acute shortage of essentials commodities like vegetable, eggs, fruits and other food items. The shortage of essentials is adversely affecting life in the district.

Abdul Hussain President BJP Unit Kargil highlighted the crisis of Essentials Commodities in Kargil district, saying that recent snowfall has buried the whole Administration, said a press release issued by the party. 

Essential commodities are in acute shortage and people are greatly distressed by the prevailing situation. The complaint of the people is that the Council is nowhere visible in this hour of distress. The ground reality is very different. The Government claims that it is concerned about the people living in far off places in the State. Kargil is an important town and the Hill Council has the duty to ensure facilities for the people, the press release quoted Haji Abdul Hussain.

The delegation submitted a Memorandum also to Deputy Commissioner Kargil and requested for exemplary action against All India Trinomial Congress  over their Leader Ms. Sujata Mondal Khan’s insulting and disparaging remarks against members of the Scheduled Caste community in West Bengal.

DC Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve (IAS), listened patiently to the grievances of the visiting delegation and assured that their grievances would be taken up with the concerned departments at the earliest.

The delegation also requested DC Kargil to grace far flung areas of the District with his presence so that he can see the issues of the people on the ground.
