Leh, March 19: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Leh, Shrikant Suse, today disbursed financial assistance to registered labourers under different schemes of the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (B&OCWWB).

The financial assistance is distributed under various schemes such as Higher Education Assistance, Lower Education Assistance, Chronic Disease Assistance, Death Assistance and, Assistance during Covid-19 to the registered labourers. A total amount of Rs 2,19,65,779 was disbursed among labourers during the year 2020-21.

DC Leh, Shrikant Suse disbursed Rs 5,248,773 to assist beneficiaries, including Rs 150,000 for higher education, Rs 5,074,000 for lower education and Rs 24,773 for chronic disease.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh Sonam Chosjor; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Leh Ghulam Nabi Tak; officials from the labour department and several beneficiaries were present at the event.
